About The Position

The Product Designer delivers impactful, innovative, user-centered design solutions employing an iterative, evidence based design-process.

Requirements

  • A track record of delivering impactful design solutions and a history of successful collaboration with product and engineering partners in an agile product delivery organization.
  • A self-starter who is user-focused, detailed, and solutions-oriented
  • Basic knowledge of the fundamentals of user-centered design, visual design, brand development, and how products are put together.
  • Curiosity to understand the user
  • Effective communicator of the user's perspective throughout the design process.
  • An understanding that UX is more than just UI, but includes all user-centered design activities from research, concepting, flows, sitemaps wireframes, prototypes, annotations, and more.
  • Working knowledge of Figma and other design and prototyping tools to get the job done.
  • An effective online portfolio available for viewing.
  • Adaptive Communication: Formulates strategies to be used to convey complex information about services, products, systems, or processes to targeted audiences; communicates and liaises between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Attention to Detail: Focuses on specific details to spot and correct errors in advance of them being found and surpass quality expectations. Performs work with thorough proofreading for presentation, content, accuracy, and overall quality.
  • Information Architecture: Organizes, labels, and structures content on a user interface in an effective and sustainable way.
  • Strategic Thinking: Uses critical thinking and knowledge of business demand to plan, design, prioritize and execute high impact initiatives and programs.
  • Teamwork: Engages in others' behaviors to generate strong team cohesion and orientation. Facilitates open dialogue within and across teams to create trust and understanding. Shares collective successes and opportunities to improve as a group.
  • User Analysis: Uses a variety of investigative methods to discover an end-user's needs, opinions, motivations, and behaviors in order to convert user insights into actual hypothesis to test and experiment on.
  • User-Centered Design Process: Designs products, services, and experiences that are tailored to the needs, preferences, and behaviors of the end-user.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex features and flows, balance user needs and business needs, and find solutions that make the complex feel simple.
  • Lead the creation thoughtful journey maps, user flows, site-maps, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Follow an iterative, evidence based design process, prototype, define experiments, and validate design ideas.
  • Produce work that follows UX best practices, internal guidelines, and also brings fresh ideas to the table.
  • Understand how to leverage qualitative and quantitative research insights to inform design decisions, and how to design an MVP with a longer term vision in mind.
  • Collaborate with other designers, product, and engineering partners, to deliver impactful work to users.
  • Juggle multiple projects with varied scope, complexity, and timelines simultaneously.
