About The Position

Monarch is seeking a Growth Product Designer (Senior/Staff) who is passionate about crafting high-quality user experiences and elevating the design of personal finance tools. This role is part of the Growth pod, which focuses on building product experiences to help Monarch reach more users and guide them towards financial success. The team engages in rapid experimentation, A/B testing, improving onboarding flows, and initiatives for customer engagement and retention. Monarch is open to hiring at either the Senior or Staff level.

Requirements

• 4+ years designing across mobile and web at a consumer-focused company.
• Strong visual design skills, attention to detail, and a systems-thinking approach.
• Comfortable working closely with founders, product managers, and engineers in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Experience designing both experiments and 0-1 end-to-end experiences.
• Fluency and curiosity in using AI as a partner to sharpen judgment, move faster, and expand what's possible.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to work autonomously and proactively flag when stuck.
• Ability to determine and work with appropriate velocity based on project size.
• Ability to instinctively choose the right tool for the job (e.g., Figma, Claude design, code) and often jump between them.
• Excited by learning and trying new things in a rapidly changing industry.
• Familiarity with paid and organic marketing channel processes.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end product and visual design, ensuring a high bar for UI/UX through detailed execution.
• Scope and run experiments, conduct research with customers, test prototypes, and refine UX based on insights.
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to define features, work through technical constraints, iterate on designs, and ensure seamless handoff and implementation of designs.
• Get up to speed with Monarch’s design system and take ownership of new product design projects that enhance our new members’ experience within the first 90 days.
