About The Position

Rocket Money's mission is to help millions of people transform their financial lives by building products that give members clarity and control over their finances. The Design team at Rocket Money aims to make complex financial decisions clear, trustworthy, and easy to act on. This role is part of the Visibility and Spend Control (VSC) group, which focuses on tools that help users understand their finances and spending, including features like Spending, Recurring, and Budgets. The Product Design Team Lead role combines design leadership with hands-on design work, requiring a passion for leading and coaching designers as well as for creating impactful user experiences.

Requirements

At least 8 years of experience in user experience design or a similar role, with a demonstrated track record of impactful design solutions and effective team leadership.
At least 2 years of experience in a role with design management responsibilities.
Proficient in Figma.
Skilled mentor, capable of leading initiatives from concept to completion while guiding other team members.
Excels at collaborating, synthesizing feedback and driving projects forward, even when there are differing opinions in the room.

Responsibilities

Partner with VSC’s Group Product Manager and Engineering Director to set and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
Champion quality and user-centered design principles across everything your team builds and ships.
Manage and mentor a small team of designers, fostering growth, collaboration, and excellence in design practices.
Design, prototype and ship experiences that help users make smarter financial decisions.
Work closely with cross-functional partners in Research, Design Systems, Data Analytics, and Product Design Ops to elevate your team’s thinking and execution.
Collaborate with other Product Design Team Leads to drive visibility and cohesion across groups and continuously improve our design process.
Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously elevate the product and the team’s capabilities.
