About The Position

Parker Aerospace, an operating segment of Parker Hannifin Corporation, is a leading producer of flight control, hydraulic, fuel and inerting, fluid conveyance, thermal management, and engine systems and components for the aerospace industry. We design and build equipment for virtually every aircraft and aero engine being produced in the world today. This position is a developmental role for students to gain an understanding of practical engineering concepts in all aspects of design, research, development, and manufacturing. Works closely with senior engineers, engineering mentors and customers (i.e., AirBus, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, General Electric, Pratt Whitney etc.) on various engineering projects. Projects may encompass a wide variety of current business and engineering needs. Projects may include lean manufacturing initiatives, cellular manufacturing, 5S implementation, tooling, design and research associated with manufacturing aerospace products.

Requirements

  • DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE WORK PERFORMED, MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN OR HAVE PERMANENT RESIDENT ALIEN STATUS
  • 2 years of college coursework working toward a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree required
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills
  • Good organizational and numerical skills
  • Personal Computer Skills including MS Office, E-mail, and the Internet
  • Mobility to allow internal access to all Engineering departments
  • Team member will need to adjust course load accordingly to accommodate a 40-hour work week.
  • This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.
  • U.S. Citizenship, Permanent Residency or other appropriate status is required for certain positions, in accord with U.S. import & export regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • This role does not provide relocation or housing subsidies to any candidate and will require successful candidate to report to Fort Worth, Texas facility on a daily basis.
  • NOTE: This Co-Op will run through the spring with potential opportunity to work over the summer and/or winter.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and administer projects as requested by senior level engineers and Engineering supervision.
  • Research, design, and implement tooling & products regarding divisional Engineering initiatives and customer requirements.
  • Improve process capability, productivity and efficiencies through out research, design, and manufacturing of products.
  • Research and help maintain routings and bill of materials for product.
  • Responsible for reviewing and interpreting drawings, tooling prints, and marking data.
  • Capable of learning new technologies associated with the design and development of aerospace product - These technologies include ANSYS and CATIA V.
  • Assist with research, design and product costing for customer quotes.
  • Utilize computer systems to generate engineering reports.
  • Research, implement, and submit cost savings for improving processes and methods of manufacturing.
  • Any other similar or associated duties necessary to accomplish a mutual environment of learning and engineering development.
