The successful candidate will work closely with Product Development, Quality, Procurement, and Operations teams to understand product requirements, manufacturing capabilities, costs, and lead times. This role also includes hands-on laboratory work, including setting up and performing mechanical tests, documenting and analyzing results, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
• 1+ years of experience in product design, equipment design, or mechanical engineering utilizing SolidWorks.
• Experience creating CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
• Experience working in a laboratory or testing environment, including test setup, data collection, and interpretation of results.
• Understanding of manufacturing, machining, fabrication, or product development processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across diverse cultures and organizational levels.
• Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.
• Willingness to travel domestically as required.

Nice To Haves

• SolidWorks certifications and Design for Six Sigma experience are considered strong assets.

Responsibilities

• Apply fundamental mechanical engineering principles to design innovative pressure containment vessels and related products.
• Understand machining and fabrication processes, including their capabilities and limitations, and incorporate manufacturability into designs.
• Utilize SolidWorks to create 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings that advance product designs from concept through commercialization.
• Maintain design documentation within SolidWorks PDM.
• Organize and maintain the mechanical testing laboratory while conducting tests to validate product performance and mechanical integrity.
• Document, analyze, and communicate test results through established reporting methods.
• Design casting molds and components that integrate with existing manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Collaborate closely with plant engineering and manufacturing teams to support seamless implementation of new products.
• Develop test plans and coordinate prototype manufacturing activities.
• Participate in hands-on laboratory testing, data collection, and troubleshooting activities.
• Work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations personnel to deliver practical and innovative solutions.
• Support a culture of safety by maintaining laboratory safety standards and best practices.
