About The Position

The Dixon Group is looking for an innovative Product Design Engineer to research, design, and develop new products while working with cutting-edge technologies. This role involves designing and developing innovative products and product families from concept to completion, creating detailed models and drawings, performing engineering calculations, conducting simulations, and applying specialized engineering knowledge to improve product cost, quality, and performance. The engineer will analyze complex challenges, manage multiple projects, and engage in hands-on work across design, testing, and production.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
0–2 years of hands-on design and project experience.
Familiarity with fluid power, machine design, or industrial parts manufacturing.
High proficiency in SolidWorks and strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Strong technical problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent communication, organization, and time-management abilities.
An enthusiastic, dedicated, and innovative team player.
A self-starter who is motivated by making a tangible impact, completing complex goals, and driving new ideas forward.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience or internships as a Design Engineer or Project Engineer is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Design and develop innovative products and product families from concept to completion.
Create detailed models and drawings for new designs using SolidWorks, and thoroughly review drawings for accuracy and correctness.
Perform essential engineering calculations, such as stress analysis and heat transfer, to ensure the structural adequacy of designs.
Conduct simulations and establish comprehensive testing procedures.
Apply specialized engineering knowledge to continuously improve product cost, quality, and performance.
Analyze complex challenges and formulate clear, actionable plans based on available data.
Effectively manage, balance, and prioritize multiple concurrent projects.
Engage in hands-on work, splitting time effectively between the design desk, the test lab, and the shop floor.
