About The Position

Trane Technologies is seeking a high-energy, technically proficient Product Design Engineer to support its rapidly growing Data Center Fan Coil Wall product line at the Fort Smith, Arkansas facility. This plant-facing engineering role bridges product engineering and operations, leads local execution of new product development projects, resolves manufacturing and field-feedback issues, and manages engineering changes and bill-of-material structures. The role also serves as the primary engineering liaison between the Fort Smith manufacturing facility and the core TCDC Pod engineering team. The engineer supports implementation, qualification, and pilot production of new products; participates in design-for-manufacturing reviews and risk assessments; troubleshoots production and quality issues; and drives root-cause corrective actions. The position also coordinates engineering changes, BOM configuration, customer-specific technical documentation, testing, and order coordination to keep production and customer project milestones on schedule. Custom HVAC system design and direct customer consultation may be required. The position is based at the Fort Smith facility. Employees work onsite Monday through Thursday and may choose their work location on Fridays, balancing location with work requirements. Domestic travel of up to 10% is expected.
