Product Design Engineer III - Manufacturing

Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 10+ years of related engineering experience
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience with 3D CAD systems, mechanical drafting, and GD&T
- Strong understanding of mechanical assemblies and mechanism design
- Familiarity with metallurgy and metallurgical processes
- Experience solving complex engineering problems using tools such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Nice To Haves
- Experience with machining and metrology methods is a strong plus
- Experience with U.S. and international patents is a plus
Responsibilities
- Research, engineer, and design standard and custom product platforms that balance customer needs with quality, manufacturability, cost, delivery, and safety requirements.
- Analyze market and customer feedback, evaluate design feasibility, and create mechanical assemblies and components that perform in real-world manufacturing environments.
- Oversee assigned engineering projects from concept through implementation, working closely with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, sales, and external partners.
- Coordinate testing and prototyping activities, evaluate product performance, and recommend design improvements to enhance functionality, quality, and cost effectiveness.
- Play an important role in innovation efforts, including supporting patent activities, identifying new product ideas, and helping avoid patent infringement.
