About The Position

American Custom Meats is looking for a detail-driven Product Data Specialist to take ownership of product data and technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate and complete product information, including formulations, ingredients, specifications, item masters, labels, nutrition information, and regulatory documentation. The specialist will partner with Product Development, Operations, Procurement, Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA), Sales, and Regulatory Affairs to support new product commercialization and ongoing product needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in a food processing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership of your work

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree
  • 10+ years of experience in a food processing environment
  • Previous experience in a meat processing environment
  • Experience with product specifications, labeling, regulatory documentation, nutrition information, or product data systems
  • Experience with Canopy and/or BarTender

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain finished goods, raw materials, packaging components, and intermediate products in Canopy
  • Maintain product formulations, ingredient specifications, batch sheets, and product attributes
  • Manage allergen, nutrition, labeling, shelf-life, and production information
  • Coordinate formulation and specification changes across departments
  • Audit and validate product and ERP data to maintain accuracy and integrity
  • Create and maintain production labels using BarTender
  • Support USDA/FSIS label submissions and maintain approved label and regulatory documentation
  • Create and maintain Nutrition Facts Panels
  • Gather product information and develop accurate product specifications
  • Communicate product requirements and changes to appropriate stakeholders
  • Help ensure product information meets customer, company, food safety, and regulatory requirements
