About The Position

Elmet Technologies is a division of The Elmet Group and a leading U.S.-based manufacturer of precision-engineered products serving global industries, including aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and energy. Through advanced materials processing and precision manufacturing capabilities, Elmet produces high-performance products for some of the world's most demanding applications. Our Lewiston, Maine facility operates in a complex manufacturing environment where accurate production data, documentation, and process routing are critical to quality, scheduling, and operational performance. We are seeking a Process Specialist to join our Planning team at our Lewiston, Maine facility. Reporting to the Director of Planning, the Process Specialist is responsible for translating approved engineering, quality, and manufacturing process changes into accurate production routers and ERP/MRP system data. This position serves as an important link between process owners and the teams responsible for planning, scheduling, and executing production. The Process Specialist does not design or engineer manufacturing processes. Instead, this role ensures approved process requirements are accurately documented, controlled, communicated, and implemented within the systems used to run production. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is highly detail-oriented, comfortable working with manufacturing data and documentation, and enjoys coordinating across Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Operations.

Requirements

  • Experience in manufacturing support, production planning, process documentation, data management, or a related role
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing routing structures
  • Ability to interpret engineering documentation, bills of material (BOMs), and manufacturing process instructions
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy when managing data and documentation
  • Excellent organizational and change-management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Experience with ECO, PCN, NCR, CAPA, or similar change-control processes preferred
  • General understanding of manufacturing processes, standard work, or continuous improvement is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and maintain manufacturing routers based on approved Engineering, Quality, and production requirements.
  • Maintain accurate routing data, including work centers, operation sequences, labor times, instructions, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate and implement approved routing changes within ERP/MRP systems, ensuring accuracy and proper revision control.
  • Support ECOs, PCNs, and other change-control activities while maintaining clear, traceable documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve routing discrepancies in partnership with process owners and Production.
  • Communicate routing and documentation updates across Planning, Scheduling, Production, Quality, and other impacted teams.
