About The Position

The Product Configuration Specialist I is responsible for analyzing and interpreting customer drawings and blueprints to create and document Indium Corporation part numbers and bills of material. This role requires effective organizational and work management skills to produce multiple unique part numbers under time-sensitive conditions, meeting or exceeding established speed and accuracy metrics. The specialist will access, navigate, research, and enter data using various systems and software, including Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, and the enterprise resource planning system. Responsibilities include researching and establishing solutions based on drawings, blueprint reading, customer data specifications, and special engineering product requests related to bills of material structuring, customer parts, and costing. Accurate mathematical calculations using basic math functions, unit of measure conversions, and geometry are essential. The role also involves ensuring work is accurate and well-documented according to quality management system standards, collaborating with various Indium Corporation departments (sales, engineering, quality) for information exchange and evaluation, attending training, and performing other assigned duties and special projects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered
  • Proficient at intermediate math applications
  • PC proficient, intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in technical discipline preferred

Responsibilities

  • Exercise effective organizational and work management skills to produce multiple unique part numbers under time-sensitive conditions
  • Meet or exceeds established speed and accuracy metrics for required tasks
  • Access, navigate, research and enter data using various systems and software, including Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, and the enterprise resource planning system
  • Research, establish and maintain solutions based upon drawings, blueprint reading, customer data specifications, and/or special engineering product requests, as it relates to bills of material structuring, customer parts and costing
  • Accurately perform mathematical calculations using basic math functions, unit of measure conversions, and geometry
  • Ensure work is accurate and well-documented according to all quality management system standards
  • Collaborate with various Indium Corporation departments, including sales, engineering and quality to provide/obtain information and/or evaluation
  • Attend training as needed or assigned
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
