PAR Technology•Philadelphia, PA

About The Position

PAR Technology Corporation is seeking a Product Builder who turns customer problems into working software. The role combines engineering ability, product thinking, and design judgment, with AI used throughout discovery, implementation, and delivery. Product Builders take ambiguous opportunities, create useful solutions, and remain accountable through production and real-world use. The work may span payments, consumer applications, enterprise products, platforms, and experiences for people and software agents. The Product Builder works on a small team accountable for a business outcome. A Lead Builder, or a Senior or Principal Builder assigned to the team, sets direction on what to build and why; the Product Builder owns how their part is built. The position is remote in the United States and reports to the VP, Product Delivery.

Requirements

  • A record of building and shipping software that real users depend on; engineering, product, design, and founder backgrounds are welcome, with delivery evidence prioritized.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to implement, debug, and operate production software, with depth in at least one discipline such as engineering, product, design, or data.
  • Daily use of AI as a working method, including experience using coding agents and other AI tools on shipped work, improving personal setups, and demonstrating their impact.
  • Regular experimentation with new AI capabilities, supported by working projects and a clear understanding of their capabilities and limitations.
  • Product sense, design judgment, and data fluency, including understanding customer needs, scoping useful solutions, and assessing whether they worked.
  • Strong verification habits and clear communication, including identifying plausible but incorrect output, explaining trade-offs, and involving specialists when needed.
  • Ability to balance speed, maintainability, security, privacy, and applicable compliance requirements in production work.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort working directly in customer and partner environments, including forward-deployment settings.

Responsibilities

  • Understand problems directly from customers and users, shape solutions, define intended outcomes, and build the smallest useful version to test assumptions.
  • Write and ship production code across interfaces, APIs, integrations, data, and agent workflows, making practical product and experience decisions.
  • Use AI agents throughout research, design, implementation, testing, and debugging; develop reusable skills, tools, and context to improve delivery.
  • Experiment with new models and capabilities, turn successful experiments into product features, and share learnings.
  • Determine where a product creates lasting value and choose models, code, or existing tools suited to the problem.
  • Own testing, observability, failure handling, and maintainability; verify AI-generated output and incorporate security, privacy, and applicable compliance into production work.
  • Work directly in customer and partner environments, including forward deployment, deliver integrations, and translate customer learnings into reusable capabilities.
  • Instrument shipped work, evaluate adoption and outcomes, and change direction when evidence calls for it.
