About The Position

Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop is seeking a Product & Brand Designer to bring ideas to life in a cohesive, creative, and unmistakably branded manner. This role focuses on product design and visual storytelling, shaping how products look, feel, and connect with customers. It also supports broader creative efforts within the marketing team. The ideal candidate has real-world design experience, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to take an idea from concept to execution. The Product & Brand Designer will report to the VP of Marketing & Brand Development and collaborate with the Manager of Product Development. Primary responsibilities include product-driven design work such as packaging and visual storytelling. Secondary responsibilities include supporting the marketing team with creative needs like catalogs, social media graphics, and other marketing materials. This is a hands-on role requiring ownership of product design from concept to execution, while also being a collaborative team player. A willingness to jump in and support wherever needed is essential in this growing business environment.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years in design, brand, or a related creative role
  • Experience with physical product design and/or packaging design strongly preferred
  • Portfolio that demonstrates both conceptual thinking and execution
  • Strong visual design skills with a clear point of view and attention to detail
  • Ability to take direction and execute independently
  • Comfortable contributing across a variety of formats and channels
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with a strong emphasis on Adobe InDesign
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift
  • Collaborative, communicative, and open to feedback

Responsibilities

  • Develop product designs, packaging concepts, and visual storytelling from idea through execution
  • Translate direction into polished, on-brand creative while following established processes, standards, and guidelines
  • Ensure consistency across all product-related visual elements
  • Prepare and manage production-ready files for physical products, including soda labels, product labels, stickers, and more
  • Own the printing process for product labels and related materials, including learning and operating in-house printing equipment
  • Contribute to catalogs, in-store materials, social media, and email design as needed
  • Support marketing campaigns with design assets when requested
  • Assist with visual elements for product listings and merchandising
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing and product teams
  • Help maintain brand consistency across all creative outputs
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Jump in to support time-sensitive projects, quick-turn requests, and the occasional "all hands on deck" moment
  • Contribute wherever needed to keep projects moving - no task too big or too small
