About The Position

Gratia Health is seeking a self-motivated mid-level Product Analytics Engineer to manage their data landscape. This role involves embedding within the product and engineering team, focusing on product mechanics, tracking telemetry, maintaining dbt models in Snowflake, and transforming product data into actionable insights. The company has automated and lightweight ingestion pipelines, allowing the engineer to concentrate on higher-level data tasks rather than infrastructure. Gratia Health is a venture-backed health technology startup focused on helping healthcare employers build healthy, sustainable workforces through its behavior change platform. They aim to develop and deploy data-informed programs using behavioral science to address workforce challenges for shift-based healthcare providers, enhancing provider compensation and satisfaction while delivering ROI for employers. Team members work directly with the business, end-users, and clients to build the best product. The Product Analytics Engineer will be self-guided but supported by a strong engineering team.

Requirements

  • 2+ Years Experience: Background as an Analytics Engineer, Product Analyst, or Product Data Engineer.
  • Strong SQL fluency.
  • Experience writing and managing dbt models.
  • Working knowledge of Snowflake.
  • Hands-on experience working with event-based analytics tools (PostHog, Amplitude, or Mixpanel).
  • Comfortable serving as the single data owner on an engineering team, taking initiative without needing dedicated data management.

Responsibilities

  • Own Product Telemetry: Partner with engineering to design, maintain, and audit PostHog event tracking across core product features.
  • Maintain & Extend dbt Models: Manage transformation models in Snowflake via GitHub Actions, including business logic like user relevance scores synced back to production Postgres.
  • Enable Self-Service & AI: Keep Metabase documentation updated and optimize data schemas to support team reporting and natural language queries via Claude MCP.
  • Drive Product Insights: Analyze user behavior, feature adoption, and retention data to guide product and engineering decisions.
  • Monitor Data Quality: Oversee Airbyte syncs (Twilio, Postgres, Posthog) to ensure warehouse data reliability.
