About The Position

The Product Analyst serves as a primary analytics partner to Product Management, delivering state-level performance monitoring, root cause analysis, executive reporting, competitive intelligence insights, and business recommendations that help guide profitable growth strategies and improve business outcomes. You will also support Product Analytics' strategic objectives around competitive intelligence integration, automation, and AI-enabled analytics, all of which are intended to improve analytic depth, decision speed, and business impact. You will report to the Sr. Manager, Product. In this flex office/home role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783; Boston, MA 02110; Denver, CO 80112; Hopkins, MN 55305; Keene, NH 03431; St. Joseph, MO 64507; Phoenix, AZ 85034. Depending on the candidate pool, this position may be filled at a lower level to maintain alignment with experience and qualifications. Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
  • Demonstrated experience with various PC software applications and Microsoft Office products and with analytical or reporting tools used to organize, analyze, validate, and present data.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of insurance product design and underwriting concepts in area of expertise.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of market research and marketplace trends in insurance coverage, with the ability to connect external developments to product performance.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies, metrics, practices, techniques and tools, including independently managing timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder communication for assigned work.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience investigating variances, validating results, and communicating recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently on routine and moderately complex assignments, prioritize competing work, and seek guidance when appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SQL or BigQuery, Excel, dashboard or visualization tools, PowerPoint, competitive-intelligence tools, or AI-assisted analytical workflows.
  • Familiarity with personal lines products, product monitoring, rate reviews, root-cause analysis, or cost-benefit analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analysis, insights, and recommendations to leadership/management that will affect profit and growth plan execution on an ongoing basis, including recurring product monitoring and state or program reviews.
  • Develop reports and analyses and recommend strategies related to product development or enhancement, product language, underwriting guidelines, processes, and channel-specific business practices.
  • Analyze information, identify root causes, and present opportunities to improve product or business practices and procedures.
  • Monitor effectiveness of current products and recommend changes and/or enhancements to management based on performance, customer, market, and competitive results.
  • Analyze information and data to help formulate and execute operational plans; independently manage routine analysis and partner with others on more complex work.
  • May specialize in supporting pricing activities related to rate reviews, profit and loss ratio-based reviews, experience rating programs, post-implementation monitoring, or product and underwriting actions.
  • Research philosophies and strategies that support growth and long-term profitability goals, including competitor activity and marketplace trends.
  • Translate business questions into clear analytical requirements, acquire or coordinate the needed data, validate results, and communicate findings in a straightforward story.
  • Build effective working relationships with product, state management, pricing/actuarial, underwriting, claims, and other partners to improve the quality and usefulness of analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, document, or automate recurring analysis and reporting processes.
