About The Position

VIU by HUB is HUB’s digital insurance platform, purpose-built to modernize how consumers and strategic partners access personal lines insurance. The Digital Partners squad sits at the intersection of carrier technology, strategic partner ecosystems, and modern product engineering — driving the integrations that power VIU’s growth. This role is passionate about enabling acquisition, service, and advice however customers prefer, enabling maximum capacity for growth across all HUB distribution channels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a product analyst, business analyst, technical operations, or similar role within a software, technology, or financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated experience investigating multi-system data issues involving APIs, CRM platforms, and relational databases.
  • Proficiency with Jira for story creation, sprint tracking, and backlog management, and Confluence for technical and process documentation.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data querying and investigation (SELECT-level proficiency minimum).
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office — particularly Excel — and proficiency with Agile development tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear technical documentation and concise stakeholder-facing reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver sprint commitments independently in an Agile environment.
  • Experience in the Insurtech, insurance brokerage, or financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with REST API concepts, webhook and callback patterns, and API documentation standards (OpenAPI/Swagger).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics or similar CRM platforms in an operational or analytical capacity.
  • Familiarity with Azure services, including Azure SQL, Azure Functions, Azure Active Directory, or Azure Application Insights.
  • Experience with embedded analytics or business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
  • Comfort using AI productivity tools for data analysis, documentation drafting, or workflow automation.
  • Experience coordinating directly with external technology vendors on integration and platform issues.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, investigate, and resolve data quality issues across strategic partner integrations, including duplicate lead IDs, API callback failures, PII exposure risks, and partner link misconfigurations.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for Strategic Partner API (SP API) portal inquiries, supporting partner onboarding, data corrections, and day-to-day operational continuity.
  • Coordinate with account management, partner teams, and engineering to escalate and resolve integration-impacting issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and distribute structured partner data reports — such as weekly bound leads summaries and lead attribution reconciliations — to operations and business stakeholders on a recurring basis.
  • Identify patterns in partner-reported issues and proactively surface systemic risks to the product team.
  • Triage and categorize carrier API errors surfaced each sprint, maintaining a structured inventory of open issues and tracking resolution progress across sprints.
  • Initiate and manage error investigation requests with external platform vendors, providing detailed technical context including session IDs, agency and agent codes, and error classifications.
  • Investigate platform-specific configuration errors and escalate to the appropriate internal or external team for resolution.
  • Keep carrier error tracking documentation current based on sprint review sessions and vendor responses.
  • Collaborate with customers, partners, and stakeholders to help define product capabilities, features, and functions for your areas of ownership.
  • Contribute to the authoring and iterative refinement of Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) and/or prototypes, ensuring functional requirements are clearly defined and validated with stakeholders before development begins.
  • Present requirements to cross-functional stakeholders including product, engineering, design, and operations; synthesize feedback into updated documentation.
  • Conduct research spikes to evaluate technical implementation approaches and summarize findings for engineering teams to unblock design and development.
  • Participate in design estimation sessions, surfacing UI requirements and technical constraints early to support accurate delivery planning.
  • Query relational databases (QA and UAT environments) to investigate data discrepancies, validate partner data flows, and support incident resolution.
  • Analyze cloud platform logs in response to operational questions from product leadership and partner managers, translating raw telemetry into clear, actionable findings.
  • Investigate cross-system data flows between insurance rating platforms, CRM systems, and internal databases to identify root causes of sync failures and data inconsistencies.
  • Leverage AI productivity tools to accelerate data analysis, generate structured reports, and improve documentation workflows.
  • Develop, prioritize, and help manage product backlogs based on partner and customer need, squad capacity, and value delivery.
  • Craft high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria to ensure alignment between product intent and development execution.
  • Author and maintain Confluence documentation for API specifications, integration guides, meeting notes, and operational processes.
  • Review draft API specification documents for accuracy and completeness prior to publication.
  • Document current-state operational workflows and identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
  • Deliver structured weekly status reports to the Technical Product Owner, clearly communicating progress, risks, and blockers across active workstreams.
  • Help establish scalable best practices for product and partner integration development and management.
  • Drive delivery and execution excellence as a key participant in ongoing Scrum rituals, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Manage communication with stakeholders at all levels to maximize transparency, report on deliverables, and align on delivery expectations.
  • Provide input to test plans and validate test results to ensure features meet defined acceptance criteria before release.
