About The Position

The Product Analyst-Licensed Pharmacist focuses on driving the design of information system products that meet users' needs and align with the overall design of the organization's information systems architecture, and collects and analyzes information from system users, business analysts, and business or clinical architects to formulate the scope and objectives of the system; prepares flow charts, models, and procedures; conducts feasibility studies to design possible system solutions; leads efforts to estimate the costs of system solutions and prepare project plans to provide input into decisions about prioritizing projects and allocating IT resources; and prepares and maintains technical documentation to guide system users and assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy degree (Bachelor of Science or PharmD) required.
  • An active pharmacist license in good standing from a state board of pharmacy in one of the states approved by Orlando Health for virtual work is required.
  • Two (2) years of experience working as a hospital Pharmacist.
  • Role may also require specific experience with solutions and products(Pharmacy, Supply Chain, Revenue Cycle, and other healthcare related disciplines).

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the corporate Pharmacy department workflows.
  • Collaborates with physicians and physician-informaticists on medication order panels, order sets, and protocols.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with the medication dispensing system in accordance with scientific principles and Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates competency in all aspects of health-system pharmacy practice including pharmacotherapy, patient care, distributive services, drug information, and practice management.
  • Leads efforts to understand product capabilities (current and future state) and determine product or system design and change requirements to help drive the business or clinical unit’s targeted outcomes.
  • Assists and leads implementation of a product solution or solutions within a group of specific clinical or business applications or technologies based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities, and business requirements.
  • Manages the architecture for a scope of products and works closely with business and clinical architects who manage and design architecture for a single project or initiative.
  • Provides consulting support to business or clinical architects within projects to ensure alignment with the overall enterprise architecture.
  • Monitors the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements.
  • Understands technology trends and practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
  • Understands, advocates, and augments the principles of information technology strategies.
  • Analyzes the business-IT environment (run, grow and transform the business) to detect critical deficiencies, and recommends solutions for improvement (systems of record, differentiation, and innovation).
  • Understands and educates others on the product industry, competitors, and market trends, and determines their potential impact on the solution.
  • Understands the principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions align with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision.
  • Assists with developing and understanding of product roadmap for the evolution of the enterprise application portfolio from current to future state (as defined by the solutions architecture).
  • Participates in the evaluation and selection of software product standards and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations.
  • Consults with application and infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture and identifies when modifications are necessary to accommodate the solutions architecture.
  • Identifies the business or clinical unit impact (for example, on skills, processes, structures, or culture) and financial impact of the solutions architecture.
  • Documents all solution design and analysis work.
  • Works closely with program/project managers to ensure execution of work corresponds with what is being promised.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Recognized as an expert within the organization and possesses the required in-depth knowledge and / or breadth of expertise in products, as well as a broad knowledge of products within the organization.
  • Solves unique problems that have a broad impact on the associated business functions and requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions.
  • Contributes to the development of functional strategy within the products scope.
  • Anticipates business and regulatory issues and recommend product, process, or service improvements.
  • Leads projects with notable risk and complexity; develops the strategy for project execution.
  • Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections, and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view.
  • Contributes to the direction and resource allocation for programs, projects, or services while working within general functional policies and industry guidelines.
  • Provide Level 2 / Level 3 support on assigned products or product suite.
  • Participates in On-Call support rotation.
  • Performs other duties as directed.
