About The Position

Boston College seeks a full-time Producing Technical Director for the Theatre Department and its production wing. Reporting to the Chair of the Theatre Department, the Producing Technical Director manages production budgets; supervises and participates in building and rigging; supervises professional staff and student workers; schedules rehearsals, productions, and production meetings; and instructs and mentors students. The position is on-site, full-time at 35 hours per week, and exempt. Evening and weekend work is required. The hiring range is $74,450 to $93,050, with salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

• MA or MFA in Technical Direction, or equivalent experience in a professional or academic setting.
• Demonstrated experience teaching and working in a college or university theatre program.
• Working knowledge of theatre production, including scene construction, stage rigging, stage management, stage carpentry, theatrical lighting, props, costume construction, sound, and projections.
• Knowledge of and experience with Actors Equity rules.
• Experience in production management.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Evening and weekend work is required.
