Requirements

• Experience: Television news - 2+ years
• Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of social media platforms and basic editing skills (Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro)
• Skills: Go-getter personality, and excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Travel Ability: Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
• Schedule: Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of general office computer software, newsroom software, and basic non-linear editing systems
• May be required to lift up to five pounds

Responsibilities

• Serve as the heart of a strong brand.
• Lead the charge on driving political news coverage and determining the most important stories of the day.
• Collaborate with colleagues to tell the news that matters in your community and around the country.
• Make decisions about what to air and when, and how to keep our audience informed on key issues impacting the state.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of political, local, and breaking news.
• Create shows that attract and hold audiences’ attentions and breaks down complex political happenings and shows audiences why it matters to them.
• Transform stories from a simple pitch into a hit that inspires and delights viewers.
• Collaborate with colleagues to determine what goes on air.
