Requirements

• Producing and executive producing in television news - 5+ years
• Management - 2+ years
• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field, or comparable television work experience
• Preferred working knowledge of general computer software
• Basic editing and ability to effectively train others
• Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
• Works different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of newsroom software, and basic non-linear editing systems
• May be required to lift up to five pounds

Responsibilities

• Own the vision for the newscast.
• Lead your team through story creation to produce compelling, timely, and accurate newscasts.
• Build a positive team culture.
• Generate story ideas that reflect your local community.
• Make data-informed decisions to connect your audience with the stories that matter.
• Unite a team of storytellers.
• Oversee projects start to finish, including breaking news coverage and issue-driven special programming.
• Provide hands-on management and training opportunities involving graphics, cameras, and cross-newsroom workflow.
