About The Position

Marketplace is seeking a forward-thinking Digital Producer to play a central role in the launch and rollout of Must Be The Money, a new podcast and live-event series designed to bring candid, culturally resonant conversations about money, opportunity, and power to young audiences, particularly those historically underserved by public media. This role will function as a content strategist, producer, and launch lead, helping shape how Must Be The Money shows up across audio, video, social platforms. The ideal candidate is creative, audience-obsessed, comfortable with experimentation, and energized by building something new from the ground up. This is a temporary role, reporting to the News Director, Marketplace, and will last for one month.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in digital production, on-demand media, or related roles.
  • Excellent editorial judgment and strong storytelling instincts.
  • Experience editing and packaging digital audio.
  • Proven ability to write and produce for digital platforms, including social media.
  • Familiarity with content management systems and analytics tools.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Commitment to fairness, accuracy, and BBC editorial standards.
  • Interest in emerging formats, platforms, and audience behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead digital launch strategy for the Must Be The Money series, including some asset creation, and coordination across teams.
  • Execute a digital and social content strategy that extends each episode’s impact across platforms (Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Website and newsletters).
  • Serve as an audience advocate, ensuring the series meets young listeners where they are culturally, emotionally, and financially.
  • Translate long-form conversations into short-form, shareable content optimized for discovery and engagement.
  • Coordinate with the production team to package and amplify episodes, including talent-facing media kits and promotional guidance.
  • Manage project timelines and workflows for episode drops, including asset tracking, copywriting, approvals, and external coordination with Marketplace.
  • Maintain and communicate an editorial calendar and monitor performance metrics.
  • Use digital and social analytics to inform storytelling, distribution, and audience growth strategies.
  • Finalize Audio Episodes by tweaking video scripts to incorporate pickups for audio versions
  • Communicate with host and engineer to schedule recording sessions and deliver final mixes
  • Collaborate across Marketplace and BBC teams to foster a creative, experimental, and inclusive work environment.
