About The Position

Townsquare Media Lafayette - KPEL is seeking creative, organized, and digitally savvy Producers and Digital Content Creators to support their on-air shows and digital platforms. This part-time role involves shaping and extending content across web, social, and app platforms, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Townsquare Media is a media, entertainment, and digital marketing solutions company serving small and mid-sized markets across the U.S., with a strong local presence in Lafayette.

Requirements

Proven experience creating original written digital content.
Strong on-air presence with the ability to connect authentically with listeners.
Knowledge of basic FCC rules and regulations.
Solid understanding of current events and various formats.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Comfort multitasking, meeting deadlines, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to operate control boards, remote broadcast equipment, and related production tools.
Willingness to quickly learn and become proficient in NexGen and Adobe Audition.
Public speaking confidence and comfort interacting with listeners, clients, and partners.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
High School Diploma (required).
Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and vehicle (required).

Responsibilities

Support live, engaging on-air shows Monday through Friday, with potential for on-air contributions.
Prepare compelling daily show content that entertains, informs, and connects with the target audience.
Create and publish a minimum of two original local articles per day for the station website and mobile app.
Create, edit, and publish digital content across platforms, including WordPress articles, videos, galleries, and short-form social content (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook).
Write, schedule, and actively engage with audiences across social media, station app, and digital platforms.
Screen calls, manage listener interaction, and enhance audience engagement during on-air segments.
Coordinate guests, interviews, remote broadcasts, and station events.
Connect with listeners through interviews, live appearances, remotes, and community events.
Represent the station at promotions, live broadcasts, and special programming initiatives.
Produce commercials and support market-wide programming and content needs.
Identify trending topics and leverage audience insights to generate relevant content ideas.
Collaborate cross-functionally with on-air talent, programming, promotions, digital, and sales teams to execute integrated content initiatives and campaigns.
Assist with live events, station activations, and promotions as needed.
Champion the station brand in the community by building authentic relationships and maintaining a strong local presence.
