About The Position

DRiV is a global leader in automotive products, seeking a Producer Associate for its 2nd shift. This role requires knowledge and skills beyond those of an Operator, focusing on troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, machinery, and information systems to meet production and quality standards. The Associate will adhere to safety, health, and environmental guidelines and report any production-impacting occurrences to the Operations Supervisor. This position is non-exempt and has no direct reports.

Requirements

  • Proficient with tools, programs, and equipment needed to perform job duties.
  • Work assignments are fairly routine, and work is closely supervised.
  • Typically, 1 – 2 years of experience (Associate Level).
  • Set-up machines and systems used to complete work (Core Level).
  • Troubleshoot equipment (Core Level).
  • Complete quality inspections (Core Level).
  • Works under general supervision (Core Level).
  • Typically, 2 – 4 years of experience (Core Level).
  • Assist others when complex issues arise in area of expertise (Senior Level).
  • Able to program machines and equipment and has the skills to work in various areas of the manufacturing facility (Senior Level).
  • Works independently to complete assignments (Senior Level).
  • May interface with Engineering and Quality Technicians to resolve issues or handle special projects/requests (Senior Level).
  • Experience for each level will vary somewhat and depends on Apprenticeship requirements for the sub-categories requiring such training.
  • Ability to see objects up close or at a distance, in color, adjust focus, and use peripheral vision regularly.
  • Continuously lifting objects weighing 5lb – 20lb, frequently lifting objects 20lb – 40lb, and occasionally or seldom lifting objects 40lb – 75lb.

  • Successful completion of high school highly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties in assigned work areas including machine and specialized equipment operations, mill operations, shipping and receiving, materials handling, warehouse and dock, quality, laser cutting, mold cleaning, and high-rise/turret truck operations.
  • Set up, operate, or shut down equipment and run computer programs to complete and document work assignments.
  • Follow safety procedures and DRIV’s safety policy at all times, and immediately notify the Operations Supervisor of unsafe or hazardous working conditions.
  • Follow Quality Management System requirements and suggest improvements for the work unit and efficiencies between work units.
  • Perform visual and functional inspections according to engineering drawings/specifications and general quality inspection.
  • Become certified or have the ability to be certified to complete 1st article checks.
  • Precisely follow written instructions on press cards, standard work, or work instructions.
  • Perform 5S housekeeping and work area cleaning tasks.
  • Resolve minor issues that hinder or slow progress in the work area.
  • Perform other tasks and assignments consistent with knowledge and training.
  • Identify and report quality issues with labels and components after shrink wrap, tracking rejects.
  • Track production quantity per BOM and record it on the hour-by-hour board.
  • Adjust heat shrink tunnel as needed or correct quality output of shrink sets.
  • Pull, lift, and transport components to and from other locations using a cart or hand jack.
  • Inspect finished sets for tears, loose film, or incorrect labels before placing them on tram board containers.
  • Work with Move7 and Oracle programs.
