About The Position
The Produce Manager is responsible for leading all produce department operations, including product quality, freshness, merchandising, inventory management, and team leadership. This role ensures compliance with company standards and food safety regulations while driving sales, controlling shrink, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, train, and develop produce department associates to meet performance and service expectations
- Create effective schedules aligned with business needs and labor standards
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action as needed
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer‑focused service
- Oversee daily operations including receiving, rotation, trimming, stocking, and merchandising of produce
- Ensure adherence to quality, freshness, and presentation standards
- Manage forecasting, ordering, inventory levels, and vendor deliveries
- Ensure department cleanliness, organization, and proper maintenance of fixtures and equipment
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- Maintain accurate temperature logs, inspection records, and documentation
- Ensure proper handling, storage, rotation, and disposal of produce
- Prepare for and respond to internal and external audits
- Drive sales through effective merchandising, displays, promotions, and seasonal execution
- Manage shrink, spoilage, and markdowns in alignment with company standards
- Analyze sales trends and department metrics to optimize labor and product mix
- Control department expenses and support overall store financial performance
- Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve escalated customer concerns
- Ensure product availability, freshness, and visual appeal meet customer expectations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and customer‑ready department at all times
