Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the produce department team, including training, scheduling, and daily oversight.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service by assisting customers, resolving concerns professionally, and promoting fresh produce offerings.
  • Manage department financial performance, including forecasting weekly sales, managing inventory, and meeting budget goals.
  • Execute weekly marketing, merchandising, and promotional plans to create visually appealing produce displays.
  • Ensure product quality and freshness by inspecting inventory, rotating stock, maintaining code dates, and removing unsellable items.
  • Receive and organize produce deliveries and ensure product is safely transported and properly staged.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, weights and measures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and promotional materials throughout the department.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment on both the sales floor and back‑room areas.
