About The Position

The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The role maintains the department’s overall environment by assisting Members with product knowledge and customer service, and ensures produce meets or exceeds company quality standards.

The Produce Clerk supports club policies, procedures, compliance, safety, inclusion, and teamwork while delivering friendly service and maintaining the club’s GOLD standards. The position may also involve performing duties in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.

Responsibilities

• Assist Members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe handling tips, and helping Members find products throughout the club.
• Inspect, rotate, and store produce deliveries, ensuring received products meet or exceed company standards.
• Rotate produce on the sales floor to maintain freshness and variety; keep cases and displays stocked, neat, and clean; and remove products no longer suitable for sale.
• Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back stock and organizing and condensing the storage area daily.
• Follow established guidelines for disposing of damaged, spoiled, or expired products.
• Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
• Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
• Generate produce signage and perform price checks as needed; ensure items are accurately priced and signed.
• Maintain club policies and procedures.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Support a safe and positive environment, work collaboratively toward team goals, and maintain a friendly and positive attitude.
• Deliver service excellence, address and de-escalate Member concerns, and follow daily GOLD Member and club standards.
