About The Position

The Produce Clerk is responsible for maintaining the Produce Department, including stocking, product presentation, and ensuring accuracy of tags and pricing. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and proper functioning of equipment, participating in inventory preparation, and providing excellent customer service. The clerk must possess good product knowledge and adhere to all safety procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
• Must gain an understanding of proper handling, preparation, seasonality, and appropriate shelf life of products.
• Strong people skills with the ability to work effectively independently and as part of the team.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Produce experience helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Stocks Produce Department, including presentation, facing, filling, and organization of all product items according to schematics.
• Ensures tag and pricing accuracy.
• Stocks, cleans, and maintains proper temperatures for all wet racks.
• Cleans and sanitizes the work area, including tables, floors, scales, cases, and coolers.
• Participates in pre-inventory preparation, including back stock and tag verification.
• Maintains a high level of product knowledge and preparation skills.
• Regularly walks the department to ensure an organized, sanitary, and clean appearance.
• Follows all safety practices and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
