The Produce Clerk is responsible for providing service that exceeds the expectations of customers. This includes stocking shelves in the produce department, washing, cutting, peeling, wrapping, and preparing fruit for stocking. The clerk will also stamp, mark, or tag prices on merchandise. A key aspect of the role is possessing knowledge of various types of produce, their origins, growth methods, preparation, and shelf life. The ability to understand and use scales is also required. Building business through excellent customer service and fostering repeat business is essential. All Produce Clerks must acknowledge and/or greet customers within the first 15 seconds of their arrival, whether at a counter or on the sales floor, adhering to the "15 Second Service" policy and executing the "Seven Points to Extraordinary Service" at all times.
