Requirements
- Bring commitment to Hy-Vee's mission and a genuine passion for helping customers
- Follow written and verbal instructions carefully and with attention to detail
- Apply basic math skills including simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording
- Communicate clearly with customers and co-workers and contribute positively to the team
- Learn and apply proper sanitation, food safety, and department procedures
- Less than high school diploma or equivalent experience accepted
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience; we'll provide all the training you need to succeed
Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting every customer with a smile, assisting them with their needs, and going the extra mile to make their shopping experience a great one
- Review the status and appearance of merchandise for freshness and replenish and rotate product to maintain quality standards
- Ensure an adequate product supply is ready and on hand; develop or follow a production list and anticipate daily product needs for the department
- Check in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed
- Prepare, finish, and replenish product as necessary
- Practice proper sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean, neat, and safe at all times
- Remove trash in a timely manner and assist with general department upkeep
- Order product and supplies and price products for customers as needed
- Answer the phone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service to customers who call
- Follow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all department and company guidelines
- Pitch in with other tasks or special projects as they come up
