About The Position

Stew Leonard’s, a family-owned and operated fresh food store founded in 1969, has locations in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Stew’s earned its nickname, the “Disneyland of Dairy Stores” because of its country-fair atmosphere, with costumed characters and animated entertainment throughout the store that keep children entertained while parents shop. Cooks prepare the highest quality food items for retail by following established recipes, standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 1 to 3 years of experience
  • Knowledge on food preparation
  • Safely use/operate knives, ovens, scales, wrapping machine, steamers, mixers, and all other equipment required in the day to day operation of the kitchen
  • Excellent customer service
  • Good oral communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Current Culinary Arts student or graduate, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Inventory cases and prepare production list
  • Follow recipes to prepare and reheat food items
  • Rotate products on display
  • Adhere to all health, sanitation, and safety regulations
  • Assist in other duties, as assigned
