About The Position

At Rosauers Supermarkets, the Produce Clerk helps bring fresh produce to customers by preparing, packaging, and displaying fruit and other produce items. The role involves maintaining high standards of freshness and quality, keeping displays stocked and organized, and providing helpful customer service to support a positive shopping experience. The clerk works collaboratively with other team members and maintains a clean, safe work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of and passion for produce.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must complete a pre-employment background check.
• Must obtain a current food workers card once employed, where applicable.
• Must be able to regularly lift, carry, and push up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet customers and help them locate produce items.
• Answer customers’ questions about produce and provide recommendations.
• Wash, peel, cut, and package fresh produce.
• Stock and rotate fresh produce.
• Regularly check the freshness of displayed fruits and vegetables.
• Remove produce that fails quality standards or shows signs of spoilage.
• Monitor inventory and help keep the produce display area well-stocked.
• Stay up to date on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special produce department advertisements.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to provide a seamless customer experience.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
