About The Position
Our Produce team is fundamental to Metro’s overall success with a focus on always fresh, in stock, and up to standards. The Produce Clerk is responsible for the preparation of produce products for retail display and sale to customers in a safe and sanitary manner. They are also involved in servicing Metro’s customers in a courteous, friendly and efficient manner! If you are interested in assisting customers and are passionate about the food industry the produce department is waiting for you!
Requirements
- Customer service driven
- Able to stock merchandise and create displays
- Able to lift up to 50lbs
- Good product knowledge and attention to detail
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Safely handle knives and cut fresh produce for periods at a time
- Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include nights and weekends
Nice To Haves
- Retail experience considered an asset
