About The Position

Westborn Market is seeking an experienced and dependable Produce Team Member to help maintain a fresh, well-stocked produce department. The role requires detailed knowledge of fresh produce and adherence to Westborn Market’s customer service standards. The position is based at the Livonia location in Livonia, Michigan, and is non-exempt. It reports to the Produce Manager, Store Director, and Produce Director.

Westborn Market is a third-generation, family-owned and operated business founded in 1963, with four locations across Metro Detroit. The company emphasizes quality goods, superior service, and strong relationships with customers and team members.

The work involves considerable exposure to conditions such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises. It includes moderate physical activity, handling average-weight objects up to 25 pounds, and standing or walking for more than four hours per day. Some exposure to hazards or physical risks is present, requiring basic safety precautions. Requirements

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to write legibly and read with comprehension at a level applicable to the position.
• Ability to monitor and maintain quality control standards.
• Detailed knowledge of fresh produce.
• Must follow basic safety precautions in an environment with some exposure to hazards or physical risks.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of moderate activity, including handling average-weight objects up to 25 pounds and standing and/or walking for more than four hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Stock and rotate produce to assure quality and freshness.
• Prepare, trim, cut, package, and label produce as required.
• Receive, inspect, and properly store produce deliveries.
• Maintain attractive displays and ensure accurate pricing and signage.
• Help prioritize daily tasks and maintain productivity during busy periods.
• Operate machinery such as a baler and pallet jack to make bales and move pallets.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Abide by Westborn Market’s time and attendance policy.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area free of hazards.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested by an authorized person.
