About The Position

Under general supervision, the Produce Associate helps maintain a smoothly running produce department by stocking and maintaining displays and assisting customers with produce-related needs. The role includes handling and preparing produce, supporting deliveries, maintaining product quality and freshness, and keeping the work area clean and safe. The position is non-exempt and reports to the Produce Manager, Store Director, and Produce Director.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to write legibly and read with comprehension at a level applicable to the position.
• Ability to monitor and maintain quality-control standards.

Responsibilities

• Stock and rotate produce to ensure quality and freshness.
• Prepare, package, and price products as directed.
• Operate machinery such as a bailer and pallet jack to make bales and move pallets.
• Assist with loading and unloading produce trucks.
• Cut, weigh, and label produce according to food-safety best practices.
• Prepare guacamole, pico de gallo, and other goods using established recipes.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Follow Westborn Market’s time and attendance policy.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area free of hazards.
