This role negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer-related business processes or for internal use as a generalist or in a combination of Purchasing Disciplines. The General Profile requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field. Uses advanced techniques, theories, and processes to complete work. Leads others to solve complex problems. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. May lead functional teams or projects. Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment. Contributes to the professional/technical direction and strategic decisions for own function. Translates and implements functional policies and programs. May have responsibility for own function at a site. Has responsibility for the function and reports to the site/ SBU head (and/ or to a Home Office functional leader).

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 8-10 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Oversees procurement and purchasing operations and drives strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing.
  • Cultivates strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain.
  • Collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels.
  • Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands.
  • Evaluates proposals/quotes based on offering quality, cost, or other criteria and recommends suppliers that are best suited to meet the organization's requirements.
  • Drives compliance for all procurement activities with internal policies and external regulations.
