About The Position

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team, supporting transformer logistics planning and contract management. This role is responsible for securing competitive pricing and managing procurement activities for local work scopes, including transportation, installation, and insulation oil, while also assessing transportation feasibility based on vendor data and project requirements. The position involves tender/bid management, vendor evaluation and selection, new vendor development, and profitability-focused cost planning to support successful project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field required
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, especially in cost and data accuracy
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in procurement, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in tendering/bidding, vendor management, or project procurement is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Identify projects requiring budgetary quotations for logistics-related scopes (transportation, installation, insulation oil)
  • Coordinate with Sales and vendors to ensure timely submission of quotations
  • Prepare and issue RFQs to subcontractors and ensure adequate vendor participation
  • Analyze and benchmark vendor quotations for cost competitiveness and feasibility
  • Develop internal cost estimates and provide recommendations based on historical data and market insights
  • Support profitability analysis and cost planning for bid submissions
  • Manage the end-to-end bidding/tendering process (spot or periodic basis)
  • Prepare RFQ packages with technical and commercial requirements in coordination with internal teams
  • Evaluate vendor quotations based on internal criteria (cost, route, equipment, methodology, etc.)
  • Lead vendor clarification discussions and ensure alignment on scope and execution
  • Submit evaluation results and recommendations to management for approval
  • Issue award notifications and manage purchase order (PO) execution in SAP
  • Assess transportation feasibility for large transformers in collaboration with logistics partners
  • Review route, equipment, and site constraints based on engineering drawings and layouts
  • Coordinate rail clearance and transportation approvals, including schedule planning
  • Identify potential risks and constraints early, including design impacts due to logistics limitations
  • Track and follow up on all feasibility-related issues with vendors and stakeholders
  • Manage and monitor performance of approved vendors
  • Maintain strong relationships with key vendors for pricing and feasibility support
  • Identify and develop new vendors through market research and industry engagement
  • Support initiatives to enhance cost competitiveness and supplier capability
  • Support procurement planning and sourcing strategies aligned with project and business needs
  • Monitor market trends and pricing to improve cost efficiency
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in procurement processes and bidding practices
