About The Position

The City of Fresno's General Services Department is seeking a motivated Procurement Specialist to support procurement functions within the Purchasing Division. This role involves preparing specifications for bids, developing bid analyses and vendor matrices, conducting bid conferences and openings, analyzing proposals, completing bid evaluation reports, and processing bids in compliance with laws, regulations, and City policies. The position is based in Fresno, California, and requires physical presence during assigned working hours. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available.

Requirements

  • Thirty (30) semester units from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Accounting, or related field; OR
  • One (1) year of procurement/buyer experience in a business or office setting involving cost determination, requisition preparation, bid comparison, and vendor selection; OR
  • One (1) year of finance, budget, or accounting experience within a governmental agency; OR
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • If qualifying with education, a copy of college transcripts must be uploaded and included in your online application for verification purposes.
  • Possession of a valid California Driver's License required at time of appointment.
  • Candidates considered for hire must provide proof of a valid driver's license and current copy of their driving record.
