About The Position

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking an Administrative Procurement Analyst (NM) to serve as a Procurement Specialist for the Capital Budget and Contracts (CBC) Division within the Bureau of Engineering Design & Construction (BEDC). This role involves managing and processing professional services and construction procurements for various City contracts. The specialist will work with Project Managers to develop Request for Proposal (RFP) and Competitive Sealed Bid (CSB) documents, monitor procurements through the City contracting process, and initiate/review funding requests with the DEP budget office. The position requires utilizing the Procurement and Solutions Sourcing Portal (Passport) for document preparation, responding to inquiries, resolving procurement-related issues, and monitoring/updating contract statuses in tracking systems. This position is specifically for internal City employees with permanent Civil Service status as an Administrative Procurement Analyst.

Requirements

  • Permanent Civil Service status as an Administrative Procurement Analyst.
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in purchasing, procurement, contract administration or a related field.
  • At least eighteen months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity or supervising professional personnel performing duties in one or more of the above fields.
  • Possession of an acceptable professional procurement certification may be substituted for up to one year of the experience described above, but all candidates must have the eighteen months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and process professional services and construction procurements for various City contracts.

  • Monitor procurements through the City contracting process.
  • Initiate, review, and process funding requests with the DEP budget office.
  • Utilize the Procurement and Solutions Sourcing Portal (Passport) to prepare procurement documents.
  • Respond to inquiries and resolve issues regarding procurement documents, which may include performing research and collaborating with multiple departments.
  • Monitor and update contract procurement statuses within all DEP and Citywide tracking systems.
