About The Position

The Procurement Specialist will support the day-to-day procurement activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, supplies, and services. This role is responsible for coordinating with vendors, supporting purchasing processes, and maintaining accurate procurement records while ensuring quality and compliance standards are met. This position works cross-functionally with all departments to support alignment of material requirements and ensure efficient execution of procurement activities. The role serves as a key point of coordination across teams to support operational continuity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain (food manufacturing preferred).
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Basic negotiation and vendor relationship skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and process compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), ERP systems and Ortems ( MRP planning tool)

  • Experience working in cross-functional environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily procurement activities, including PO creation/ correction, tracking, and follow-up with suppliers.
  • Coordinate with vendors to confirm pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchase orders, supplier information, and procurement activities in ERP systems.
  • Monitor inventory levels and support replenishment planning to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
  • Assist in vendor negotiations and pricing reviews to ensure competitive sourcing.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and support resolution of supply or service issues.
  • Act as a liaison between departments to align material specifications, timelines, and priorities.
  • Support coordination of Ingredients, including packaging and auxiliary supplies, to meet operational requirements.
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies related to purchasing, deliveries, or material quality in collaboration with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Support procurement process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost control.
  • Ensure procurement activities follow company policies, food safety standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Stay informed on market trends, supplier changes, and procurement best practices.
  • Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned to support procurement operations.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
