About The Position

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing purchasing activities to support various business requirements. This role involves preparing and tracking purchase orders, monitoring inventory, identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating terms, and maintaining accurate procurement records. The specialist will also coordinate logistics, identify cost-saving opportunities, and assist with supplier performance management. The position requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a focus on building effective relationships with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Operations, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Min. 2 years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with ERP, MRP, inventory, or purchasing systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Experience with supplier quotation analysis and negotiation is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders in accordance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing activities to support production, engineering, R&D, and general business requirements.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing requirements, priorities, specifications, and required delivery dates.
  • Identify and evaluate suppliers based on pricing, quality, capability, reliability, lead time, and prior performance.
  • Request and evaluate supplier quotations and support price and commercial term negotiations.
  • Maintain supplier relationships and follow up on open orders, delivery schedules, shortages, and other supply issues.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing history, supplier information, and related procurement documentation.
  • Support inventory forecasting and material planning to maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing shortages and excess inventory.
  • Coordinate incoming material and logistics activities with suppliers, warehouse personnel, and other internal teams.
  • Purchase facility supplies, consumables, equipment, and R&D materials and ensure purchases are allocated to the appropriate department or budget.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, lead-time reduction, supplier consolidation, and procurement process improvement.
  • Assist with supplier performance monitoring and resolution of delivery, pricing, documentation, or quality-related issues.
  • Perform other procurement and supply-chain-related duties as assigned.
