About The Position

Econolite is looking for an accomplished and highly motivated Procurement Specialist to shape the talent that drives our continued growth. This role owns the full procurement lifecycle and delivers an exceptional, high-touch experience for candidates and hiring managers. This is an opportunity for a hands-on procurement specialist who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and knows how to turn business needs into effective talent strategies. You will build trusted partnerships with suppliers, engage with internal teams, cultivate robust supplier relationships, and manage multiple priorities with focus and momentum. Serving as a strategic procurement advisor to internal teams and suppliers, you will develop and execute targeted procurement strategies for materials supporting intelligent transportation systems (ITS), traffic management, technology, engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure, corporate, and related disciplines. The successful candidate combines deep full-cycle procurement expertise with outstanding stakeholder management and a data-driven mindset. Through proactive sourcing, market intelligence, meaningful procurement analytics, process improvement, and employer-brand initiatives, you will elevate procurement excellence and build the workforce behind Econolite’s mission to create safer, smarter, and more connected communities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Two to five years of procurement, purchasing, material planning, or supply chain experience.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems to support purchasing, planning, and inventory management activities.
  • Proven ability to manage large purchase order backlogs and high-SKU environments.
  • Working knowledge of procurement, supply chain, inventory management, and material planning principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate planning signals and purchasing requirements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proactive approach to supplier management and issue resolution.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 or similar ERP systems is preferred.
  • APICS/ASCM certification or related supply chain training is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily procurement activities to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
  • Review, analyze, and process MRP planned order recommendations, validating system suggestions and taking appropriate purchasing actions.
  • Manage a high volume of part numbers and supplier relationships while ensuring timely replenishment of materials.
  • Generate, maintain, and expedite purchase orders to ensure material availability and minimize production disruptions.
  • Communicate regularly with suppliers regarding order status, delivery commitments, shipment schedules, and potential supply risks.
  • Proactively manage open purchase order backlogs and drive supplier accountability to meet required delivery dates.
  • Monitor supplier performance related to delivery, responsiveness, and quality.
  • Investigate and resolve purchase order, receiving, invoice, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Collaborate closely with Planning, Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, and Customer Service teams regarding material shortages, delivery commitments, and schedule impacts.
  • Maintain accurate ERP planning data, including lead times, order quantities, and supplier information.
  • Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) by coordinating material transitions and inventory disposition activities.
  • Participate in cycle count, inventory management, and material control initiatives as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to department efficiency initiatives.
  • Represent Econolite professionally in all supplier and internal stakeholder interactions.
