This role is within the Solutions division and is a full-time position. This position serves as a liaison between the direct fulfillment program manager, demand planners, and the DSV fulfillment site. The role involves ensuring commitments are met within product lead times, resolving delays, managing delivery order lead times, and expediting SAP delivery orders. The Procurement Specialist will review customer build/ship plans to ensure they align with delivery dates. A key aspect of the role is identifying and driving continuous improvement projects. Additionally, the position involves managing dock operations, including safety procedures, training, and material tracking, as well as supervising dock leads. The role also includes a backup supervisory function for the build's supervisor, assisting with new building startups, coordinating with local customer teams and construction, compiling and presenting data for manager meetings, and identifying areas for financial and efficiency improvements. Coordination with warehouse personnel for inbound and outbound material, direct deliveries, and drop trailers is essential. The role also manages work tickets for material movement and assists with onboarding and training new material planners, including managing and improving training documentation. Responsibilities extend to assisting with payroll/HR issues and the interview process when needed, and administering on-the-job training sessions while developing new training opportunities.

Requirements

  • Exceptional interpersonal and analytical skills required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
  • Generally, prefer 5+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all commitments from the various demand planning groups are within the agreed upon product lead times
  • Resolve delays in providing the needed material within the agreed upon timeline
  • Manage the lead times of all delivery orders placed on behalf of the customer and report any issues with lead times.
  • Expedite SAP delivery orders to the site with assistance from internal and external partners.
  • Review the customer’s build/ship plans ensuring the plan will meet the commitments based on the delivery dates.
  • Able to identify areas of opportunity to help promote continuous improvement projects by putting together a project plan, proposal, and seeing the project through to completion.
  • Manage dock operations for the site by ensuring all safety procedures are followed, training documentation is current/audited, and material is dispositioned and tracked correctly.
  • Manage dock leads during business hours and ensure he/she can follow all processes and procedures for the site.
  • Serve in a backup role for the build’s supervisor. Gaining an understanding of all systems, spreadsheets, and processes with the goal of running the department when the supervisor is not at the site.
  • Assist with the startup of new buildings by ensuring all safety procedures are followed, and all temporary/permanent areas are set up for daily operations with minimal supervision. Coordinates with local customer teams and construction on building startup projects and deliveries.
  • Compiles and prepares data for manager meetings and can present data concisely. Identifies areas of improvement around material that can lead to financial and efficiency improvements.
  • Coordinates with warehouse personnel in the planning and prioritization of all inbound and outbound material at the customer’s site. This includes coordinating direct deliveries to the customers site and drop trailers.
  • Manages work tickets for the movement of material at the customer’s site and back to the warehouse so it can be re-inventoried.
  • Assist with the onboarding for new material planners at the site and at other sites to help promote a smooth transition into the role. Manage and improve training documentation to promote success in the role and its responsibilities.
  • Assist with payroll/HR issues and interview process when needed.
  • Administer OTJ training sessions for team members and develop new training opportunities.
