About The Position

Lead and improve procurement processes within a high-volume defense manufacturing environment. Responsible for executing specialized procurement functions to secure materials in strict accordance with Corporate Policies, Procedures, and FAR/DFARS Regulations. Expertise in utilizing best-value evaluations to ensure maximum product quality and 100% on-time delivery in fast-paced production settings. Proven track record of leading and mentoring procurement teams to work efficiently and handle supply chain challenges. This is an on-site role in DeLeon Springs, FL.

Requirements

  • Minimum of AA/AS Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 7-10 years' experience in related discipline.
  • Experience with LTA’s / VPA’s and VMI agreements.
  • Experience strategic sourcing from overseas vendors
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of operations principles (JIT, MRP, TQC, and CRP) required.
  • Demonstrated experience and successful results in negotiation skills and strategies.
  • Attention to detail, takes initiative and comfortable working in a high tempo environment

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred BA/BS in related field
  • CPIM or CPM preferred within two years of position assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Strong working knowledge of FAR/DFARS regulations and CPSR compliance.
  • Analyze multiple requirements to satisfy the requirements of the requesting program or department and are in the best interest of the company.
  • Place purchase orders as needed, to support manufacturing requirements. Follow-up on purchase orders, Supplier contracts and material status as required.
  • Assist other individuals in expediting delinquent shipments and resolving other associated problems.
  • Lead and provide work guidance to other employees in the department.
  • Resolve Supplier quality issues, purchase order accounting issues and problem receipts.
  • Travel, as required, to meet with Suppliers and other appropriate representatives to discuss and satisfy matters that cannot be taken care of in the plant.
  • Responsible for determining material requirements from engineering and production schedules and maintaining inventory at appropriate level.
  • Will exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions in line with company policies of good, ethical purchasing practices.
  • Prepare management and analysis reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary to support procurement department.
