The Procurement Specialist II position is responsible for processing requisitions and purchase orders in accordance with policies and procedures, assisting faculty and staff with the e-procurement system, and providing guidance on procurement policies. This role involves developing and managing solicitations, reviewing and negotiating terms and conditions for campus purchases, and serving as a main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. The position also involves leading the development of complex solicitations, answering questions about commodities and services, maintaining contracts, negotiating purchase prices, researching suppliers, assessing market conditions, and establishing bid and proposal records. Additionally, the role includes drafting and communicating procurement outcomes, preparing business cases, proposing strategic sourcing, and implementing reporting protocols with suppliers for measuring cost savings and risk mitigation.
