About The Position

The Procurement Specialist I is responsible for generating and tracking purchase orders, monitoring orders from submission through receipt, and communicating with suppliers, internal customers, and stakeholders in a timely and professional manner. Assists the procurement team with projects as needed. This position offers opportunities for professional growth and development within the procurement function.

Requirements

1-3 years of verifiable procurement or purchasing experience
Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and basic procurement functions
Directly related purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop efficient systems and methods for planning and prioritizing work
Demonstrated willingness to learn

Nice To Haves

CPIM or APICS certification preferred

Responsibilities

Issue purchase orders in compliance with company policies and government regulations
Ensure procured parts are delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meet company quality standards
Maintain timely control of purchase orders, amendments, shipping notices, and related documentation to ensure accurate record retention
Track on-time deliveries
Maintain purchase order records, including shipping notices, delivery dates, documentation, and pricing
Coordinate appropriate methods for distributing commodities and parts in a cost-effective manner
Work with Accounting and Receiving to resolve invoicing issues, including pricing and quantity discrepancies
Demonstrate professionalism under pressure, maintain positive working relationships, exhibit reliable attendance and punctuality, and work overtime as needed to meet business needs
Act with a sense of urgency and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders
Travel occasionally, primarily within the local area
Provide project support as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
