About The Position

This Procurement Specialist 1 role with the Office of the Budget, Bureau of Planning and Management offers an opportunity to apply procurement expertise in a supportive environment. Ideal candidates will possess dedication, a positive mindset, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • One year of experience performing technical purchasing or contract management work.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, logistics, project, or operations management, or a related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • At least one year of experience with contractual and procurement documents.
  • At least two years of experience working with SAP software.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.

  • Experience in Commonwealth Purchasing and Procurement
  • Experience in administrative support work
  • Experience managing daily high-volume transactional functions within an organization
  • Experience working with the SAP Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) module
  • Customer service experience

Responsibilities

  • Providing support to various customers for their daily procurement needs.
  • Handling specialized services and goods.
  • Implementation and evaluation of complex procurements such as RFQs, RFPs and IFBs.
  • Management and reconciliation of purchasing card transactions.
  • Utilizing different platforms such as SRM, SAP, and Jaggaer systems.
  • Effective communication with internal partners and customers.
  • Managing multiple stages of procurement activity.
  • Collaborating with a team of other procurement specialists to ensure all procurement deadlines are met efficiently and on time during peak periods.
