Procurement Specialist 1 - Iowa Veterans Home
About The Position
The Iowa Veterans Home is now accepting applications to fill a Procurement Specialist 1 position. This role is responsible for facility credit card reconciliation preparation and processing, maintaining a Pcard for facility purchases, and completing Level 1 Procurement training. The position will also process vendor invoices for payment by verifying them against purchase orders and/or packing slips to ensure correct items and pricing. Additionally, the Procurement Specialist 1 will assist the Procurement Specialist 2 and serve as their backup, ensuring proper internal authorization is obtained before orders are placed. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Four years of full-time work experience in the procurement of standardized, expendable/nonexpendable items.
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in business or public administration, accounting, or economics.
- A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the facility credit card reconciliation preparation and processing.
- Maintain a Pcard for facility purchases and complete Level 1 Procurement training.
- Process vendor invoices for payment by checking them against the purchase order and/or packing slip to ensure correct items are received and pricing is accurate.
- Assist the Procurement Specialist 2 and serve as their back-up by ensuring proper authorization is obtained internally prior to orders being placed.
- Other Duties as assigned.
