Procurement Operations Specialist- Packaging
About The Position
The North America Mars Snacking Procurement team is at the forefront of our business, ensuring we are driving transformational change at Mars. Our mission is to manage the responsible sourcing of all raw materials and packaging for our Confectionery and Salty business while ensuring we embrace Mutuality with our suppliers and continued sustainability across our entire supply chain. We are currently hiring for a Procurement Operations Category Specialist to manage the end-to-end inbound supply chain for packaging materials in the direct sourcing area. Partner with our team of Sourcing Managers to drive the implementation of regional and global sourcing strategies across different Packaging Categories. Be the primary factory liaison, lead risk mitigation, and issue resolution of packaging materials. This is full time, on-site position.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Materials Management, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline plus internship(s) experience and/or one (1) or more years in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Procurement; OR an Associate’s Degree in a relevant field plus two (2) or more years of professional experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Procurement
- Ability to efficiently use ERP systems, with competency in SAP being a huge plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in Supplier Relationship Management, Manufacturing, and/or Operations is preferred
Responsibilities
- Purchasing indirect goods and services that are aligned with our strategic sourcing plan
- Identifying and managing supplier collaboration initiatives (forecast management, e-invoicing, process streamlining)
- Direct oversight of a designated amount of spend, as well as maintaining strong relationships with numerous suppliers and multiple internal clients
- Closely collaborating with Procurement (Commercial Operations), R&D, and other stakeholders/peers regarding the Packaging category
