About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Multi-Family Manager (Level K) to join our Space Communication programs in El Segundo, California. This role acts as an authorized agent of the company with responsibility for managing all supplier-related activities and the authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements. The manager will oversee employees from multiple Supplier Management and Procurement disciplines, focusing on the acquisition of goods and services, supplier assessment and performance improvement, and the management and enhancement of supply chain processes. The position involves developing and executing project and process plans, implementing policies, setting operational goals, acquiring resources, providing technical management of suppliers, and leading process improvements. Building and maintaining relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports is crucial. The role also includes providing oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, processes, and negotiation strategies.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”
  • More than 5 years of experience working directly with suppliers or supplier management
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An Interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required.)
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • More than 3 years of experience working with Supplier Management, Supply Chain, and/or Procurement practices and processes
  • More than 3 years of experience creating, interpreting and/or enforcing technical requirements
  • More than 3 years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams
  • More than 3 years of experience in negotiating contracts or managing supplier performance
  • More than 3 years of experience working with suppliers in a technical capacity
  • More than 3 years of experience in root cause analysis and Corrective action
  • Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

  • Provides oversight regarding negotiation processes and related tools
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees
