The Commodities Procurement Unit Manager is responsible for administering, planning, and directing procurement operations of the unit and supervising and evaluating lower-level procurement officers tasked with the responsibility of processing commodities related solicitations obtained through the competitive procurement process, negotiated procurement process, and other procurement methods obtained in accordance with the State Finance and Procurement Article, COMAR Title 21 and various policies and procedures established by the Board of Public Works and Department of General Services, Office of State Procurement. The position is responsible for providing expert procurement technical interpretation, instruction, guidance, and assistance in accordance with government procurement laws, regulations and policies. The position will manage the day to day operations of the unit to include assigning, reviewing, and approving the work of and training procurement staff within the unit. Upon request, this position provides advisory support in the development of Contract Fulfillment Teams in the execution of solicitations, contracts and agreement actions for MDH facilities and headquarter units.
